Default Is Mobil1 Synth oil good for LS Tranny in a GS-R?

As states. Had my ITR tranny in my GS-R blow apart. They are replcing the tranny w. an LS tranny and All i have is Mobil1 Syhthetic 10w30. Shouls that be ok for the tranny?

That's what I'm currently using, and seems to work flawless still.. About 2,000m on the car

No tranny fluid has different viscosity requirements and different additives. Best to stick with Honda tranny fluid.

put in amsoil MTF. i have this in my LS tranny and it is awesome

Like mentioned above, get the Honda tranny fluid from the dealer, its pretty cheap and is the best. I even get my oil filters from there as they are only a little under 3 dollars

I just run Honda MTF but I have heard good things about Syncromesh and Amsoil.

LOL any one here EVER looked at the Chem code of honda MTF and 10W-40 Motor oil????

There the SAME honda doesn't even put in an additive to make it seem like there giving you a better oil.

besides the Amsoil gives a smother shift to the tranny and amsoil will back you up if there oil is the cuase of a failure in the tranny.(atlest thay did when i got some the last time)

+1. Honda MTF smells like cat ****. I can't stand it. There is no way Honda MTF is the same as a 10-40 conventional oil. Maybe they just added some cat **** and called it a day, but there is something else in there.

All the B-series guy I know at the shop run Penzoil Synchromesh Gear oil.

maybe they changed it in the last few years i havn't gotten any sence 1996 and at that time it looked and smelled just like motor oil.

Ive been told by friends to run Gm synchromesh. but no one here seems to agree on any one oil. wtf

On a metel on metel test normal oil dosent creat as good of a film as honda mtf.. I have see it in person and mtf isnt just motor oil... Have it tested next to normal motor oil..

MObil one is junk as well... Once again do a metel on metel test its worst then normal Castrol gtx .. Even royal purple is bad it sulfer plates very bad.. Bradpenn all the way
