Default from hatch to sedan

After I did the ls swap in the hatch I found a new love. Sedans. Picked one up in ROUGH shape for 300 bucks. Ordered rockers fenders quarters and that little piece that goes under the tail light for $345 from andysautosport.com.
The car belonged to my friend Anthony hence the $300 deal. The rust on the quarters doors and rockers is really rough but i assure the underside is spotless. I'm building up a d16a6/z6/y8 hybrid right now to throw in it once the bodywork is done.
Here's a couple pictures of the car and the motor build. I finally got a job after a rough period of unemployment so updates and new parts should be coming in every week.

more updates to come as this week goes by

Wow - rough shape is right!
Completely missing metal behind door at rear wheel.
Should be a nice looking machine when you get all done.
GL!

I've owned all four EF body styles and the sedan grabbed my heart like no other. Can't wait to see the progress.

Thanks!! I took the metal piece off from underneath the tail light because it was basically completelty gone and rusted. the Pannels should be in within the next couple of weeks. This weekend the block and head are being sent to the machine shop. The head and block will be decked .0020" each for a little extra kick. All the metalwork will be done by me, so the results should be interesting

Figured i'd post some pictures of the motor as I tore it down, came out of my '90 Si hatch. burnt valves, spun main bearings, roasted #2 rod bearing and the head gasket fried. I only had the car for a month before it blew up unfortunately. Anyways i'm reusing the block for my sedan, after this car's finished I'm giving it to my little brother and buying another sedan for a B swap

here's the old motor's faults

spun bearing journals

metal shavings from the rings

extra crispy(props to anyone who knows what stewarts shops is)

That is one especially unhealthy looking engine.

Yes I will be doing all my own body work, maybe with a little help from a buddy or something. and I'm not sure exactly what finally killed it. hahaa. The rings were fried, it was running lean, the main bearings spun, there were a few good cooked valves, lots of buildup and a bad head gasket. I have a question though, When putting a vtec head on a Non vtec block, I heard rumor that you need to drill a hole in the block for oil to pass through to the vtec solenoid. Is that true/ is there a way to get around it?

Update:
So there's a change of plans. my friend has a z6 block with CP pistons that I might run Instead of using the block I have now. I'll just use my H beam connecting rods. So this changes the game a bit. but oh well. Pics will arrive this week when i pick this block up

Well the project is going on hold, I crashed into a tree last night due to black ice (Upstate New York's most favourite winter past time). So the Engine building is on hold and I'm basically ****ed until I can find a decent shell to work off of. Any leads?

BUAHAHAHAHAHA no way man, not on single cams. i have the same motor you're building. all you do is you take out the oil restrictor on the intake side of the block. vtec heads bolt right up.
