OBD2A GS-R Swap into 1995 Civic Ex.
Hello Honda-Tech! Ive been searching through google, Ht and other forums but couldnt find a solid answer. Well heres my scenerio. I have a complete OBD2A GS-R and i just swapped it into my 95' ex coupe. Im running a 94' OBD1 GS-R ECU, I have the OBD2A harness hooked up to the motor as well. Problem is i cant get it to turn over. Ive searched and found that i need an OBD1 distributor, injectors, alternator. Another question is, is it bad to run an OBD2 wire harness in a OBD1 car? Thanks Honda-Tech!!!

At this point, if you can't get it to turn over, you need to do the basic troubleshooting of checking for spark, fuel, then compression.

You don't need all that OBD1 stuff. The OBD2A Integra harness should work fine because it is a 2-piece design that splits at the shock towers just like the harness in your Civic. Everything is plug and play if you use the Integra harness in your chassis.

No you don't need to switch out the harness inside the car. It's plug and play. Since you have an EX, you don't have to wire up VTEC, it should already be there. I'm not sure if your generation D series had a knock sensor. You may have to wire that up but it's one wire run to the shock tower in the stock location. You also may need to wire up the IAB (intake air bypass valve). But the IAB doesn't prevent you from starting the car. If your car doesn't start, then it's a spark/fuel/compression type of issue.
