How much air filter "area" do I need?
OK, I've had my intake altered a bit and the air filter that was initially on there won't fit any more. It is a cone filter, by the way. It looks like it is about 2 inches too "tall" so I'm going to have to look for a shorter one.
Is there some sort of way to know how much air filter surface area I need so that I am getting a suitable amount of air into my engine?
Engine is actually a Toyota 2ZZ-GE (1.8L) and I will be running a GT28RS at around 16 psi on low compression pistons if that makes a difference.
If more info is needed let me know!
Thanks!

Find a universal (or custom size) filter from K&N that will fit your space. And then call K&N and speak with an engineer, they will caculate the surface area of the filter and tell you how much CFM it will flow.
