d16z6 EF, smoking.
Hey everyone,
I'm needing some advice, I've got a d16z6 in a 1990 EF. It recently started smoking when it got cooler outside, this last cold front, and now whenever my car idles, or runs at a mid range RPM it's smoking. White smoke, I fixed the valve cover gasket, it seemed to be leaking from above the headers, and burning off. For some reason that didn't fix the problem it is still smoking, is it possible for oil to come out of the headers and leak around the gasket?

White smoke is radiator fluid/water.
In colder temps you will get condensation in your exhaust in the morning that will burn off and have white puffs of smoke.
After the engine is all warmed up and you have driven it a while, it shouldn't smoke at all.
If it does smoke white during normal driving, then you need to start inspecting your water and oil.
Get a block tester from your local auto parts store and keep an eye on your radiator fluid level.
