2013 3rd Generation RL to be released at the 2012 NYC Auto show...
Mods, if this is a repost, I apologize. Acura is readying a successor to its range-topping RL sedan, with a choice of gasoline and hybrid powertrains. The new flagship sedan is said to have the cabin space of a BMW 7 Series with the agility of a 5 Series. The big Acura sedan is expected to go on sale before the end of 2012.
I found some of the replies rather interesting in the comments section, but agree with most of them, in Acura's defense. Photo is of the current machine.

I always liked the KB1/KB2, and never understood why there was so much hate. Interior was always comfortable, J series motor was powerful enough, and the SH-AWD was great. I hope Acura doesn't stray from the formula too much...
I've only had my '05 for about 4 months, and I love it.
I am really looking forward to the introduction of the next RL/Legend and I can very well imagine that it might be my next vehicle.
Very excited to hear about the 7 speed automatic manual, and excited that the long awaited J Motor replacement will debut.
The new version of SH-AWD using electric motors on the wheels promises to give us even better handling out of larger sedans than we have now...and believe me, as someone who drives the current version, it's capable of much more than people realize.
Fuel economy is something else I'm waiting to hear about. My 2010 TL 6-6 SH-AWD is EPA 17 in the city, and I routinely average 25 mpg. I hear that the upcoming gasoline RL/Legend is EPA 22 in the city, which means that this big car could very well average 30 mpg for me.
Really looking forward to it.
I'm looking forward to the NSX, too, but it's far more likely I'd see the RL/Legend as a replacement for my current daily driver.

Can't wait to see how much prices drop on the 2nd gen RLs, specifically the MMC 09+ versions lol.
Want to upgrade my daily driver as a graduation present to myself when I finish school in May. Prices look semi-decent now but I know they'll drop once they come out with the 3rd gen, the question is by how much??? Only time will tell I guess...

They haven't shown the best sense with brand names for quite some time. No point in hoping for better now...just enjoy the reliability. :-)
The basic technology of Hybrid Performance SH-AWD sounds great....
Most of us would probably have already understood that the looks would be evolutionary, not revolutionary.
It's probably going to come down to how the interior is redesigned, and how new technology is integrated into the interior design.
