car just died :(
So I was driving my car and all of a sudden the car dies. Drove the car for about 25 mins and it dies, it wont crank, and no interior lights come on. Right afterwards, i tried jumping the car, but no lights come on at all while connected. After awhile of the car just sitting there car will start like nothing and do the same thing.
Car is a 99 with almost 220xxx
I have read online that it could possibly be the ignition coil overheating, but just want to verify it.

haven't check the alternator ground(will look over everything tomorrow morning), it happen to me when i came to a stop and car just dies.
But even with jumper cables attached to the car, not one of the lights came on, except the door ajar light

probably 2 mins but my dad was trying to turn it on while they were on and nothing at all came on
In the morning i plan to check the connects of the battery and alternator
I really hope the alternator didn't crap out on me :c

dout its a connetion problem at the battery or alt with what your saying it sounds like an ignition switch or under hood fuse panle problem.
if you have lost all power inside the car (ie the dome light goes out as well) then your Not getting power in the car from the under hood fuse box. if the dome light still works but there is nothing when to turn the key on it's in the ignition switch wiring.

So no power at all, "it wont crank, and no interior lights come on. Right afterwards, i tried jumping the car, but no lights come on at all while connected" and by "interior lights" do you mean cluster lights, [oil, batt., CEL and so on] or do you mean dome light?
After sitting for a while the car will start, "After awhile of the car just sitting there car will start like nothing and do the same thing" and then stall again, is that correct?
It definatly sounds like a connection problem, I would start by checking the main grounds, [batt. post and cable clamp ground, batt. to chassis ground and chassis to engine ground].
If that does not solve your problem check the main powers, [batt. post and cable clamp pos.(+) batt. to fuse box, batt. to starter and alt. to fuse box charge line, both ends].
Do not just eyeball any of the above connections, remove/clean/reconnect. 94

update:
Check and clean my battery and alternator connection, Also check fuse.
Now car will not start and absolutely no lights come on(not even dome light)
I plan to try and jump the car and use a multimeter (also recheck my connections again)

yes i was talking about the dome light
ok now that you have messed with the connections you must have found the Weak point Moved it and broken the connection compleatly.
I'll try to give you a run down of How you get power from the battery to the interior of the car.
ok - batery post to Body ground and Engine. Make sure you have a Good connection at Both points and if you only have one of the grounds get the other one connected
Now the + battery post goues into the under hood fuse box and ill explain where it goes in there the best i can with out pictures that i don't have.
ok from the battery is the Main power fuse (if this is bad you might not beable to see it with the naked eye) then it goes into a power Bus Bar and out to the rest of the fuses in the box. Now there is a Line the runs from the fuse box under the hood to the one inside the cabin of the car and one to the ignition switch. thay MAY be fused seperate of the MAIN fuse But Not always.
From the alt you only have the + cable going to the Under Hood Fuse Box this line should Be fused then connect to the Bus Bar in the fuse box Same as the Main Fuse. (it may Not Look like it as its inturnal to the fuse box)
The - Of the alt is The Ground from the Battery to the Engine.
All other wires from the Alt are for the ELD and ECU (on an obdII car) and will NOT cuse this as a problem.
your Failure Has to be eather in the Ground (bout i don't think it is) or the conection to the Under Hood fuse box. try to turn on the Hazard light if thay flash and your under hood fuse box IS getting power from the Battery and you need to look at the wire from the under hood fuse box to the interior fuse box and the igniton switch.

i appreciate everyone feedback so much
The battery is still good got a 12.38dc
Going to replace the ground on the battery with my other cars ground and see
If that dont work going to try Solsters way

My 88 Integra had this problem about a year ago. The ground was rubbing on something. Ended up cleaning all the connections, re-taping the ground wire (the car is a beater, new wire was like $50), and it started right up.
