Default Rise of the Pheonix- Type R build thread

Progress also on page 2,3,4

I recently picked up this type r from another member here. my original plans were to have this as a daily driver so i could work on my k swapped hatch. but shortly after getting there to pick it up i noticed that it needed way more work than what i thought it originally needed. further adue i decided to make this my project and somehow manage to daily my civic. i will be removing the type r wheels that are on the integra and put them on the civic because thank goodness these have brand spanking new tires. ok so i brought her home and started to take her apart to get ready for paint. it will be a slow build but will be so worth it after i finish. hoping to complete this by the end of summer. if i dont finish by then i will take my time and wait until next year. here are some pictures of how i brought her home and some work i did today...

downfall on this car is it was purchased as a shell by the original owner from the buyer before me and i got it with a full gsr swapped which will be pulled and sold. no type r interior pieces, cluster, cf pieces, front seats etc..... which i will be looking for these parts in the future.

sorry the sun really ruined these pictures it was harsh and even editing didnt help much

good god i question why paint is even needed! LOL

looks to me like just the trunk needs sprayed, that primer blob on the driver door needs removed and a new type r decal on the driver side and its in damn nice shape for a "shell"

i guess looks in pics can be decieving though.. how's the paint in person?

Doors and shell are all original paint(normal tear and wear), I painted the bumpers for the privious owner. Trunk and driver door need work, fenders look like they were rattled caned and it needs a hood. So y not just throw fresh paint on the whole thing. This is going to be alot of time going into the prep of the car and the paint. It has to live up to the type r name

So this project has become my #1 priority right now. Tito (Latinracerct) is a very good friend, and is just as picky as I am. We will completely be stripping the body down to almost nothing and re-spray the entire car in and out. Please keep the comments coming and keep us motivated. Updates will be on the regular and might throw in another couple projects we will be working on.
