I still fail to see the draw of the JDM ITR when the ITR North America got is 95% of the JDM car, minus the stupid RHD aspect.
That and there is the whole legality involved.

Gtta read that whole thread, but it explains everything thoroughly. The cars are built differently. But I feel your pain man, we all do. I have so many friends at Spoon sports who know many places to buy a JDM ITR, Even the limited PY ones. But, we just gtta live with it.

The most expensive part is probably the OEM Recaros, but it is still easy to do.
I can understand the desire of an R32 Skyline or something (as we never got those), but not a JDM ITR.
Heck, out of all the JDM Hondas, I'd much rather have the 99-00 CTR as we never got the 185hp B16 in that car nor did we get the 99-00 hatch with the "Type R" chassis improvements--and those you can't simply upgrade on the USDM chassis.
As a race car, yes, but you need to prove that the car would not be physically possible to return to street-driveable form, sign a document to guarantee that the car would never see the public road, provide a copy of your race license and schedule of events you plan on participating with the car, etc. etc.
Other than RHD and the front end, the USDM car can easily be made into an OEM equal to its JDM counterpart. A few mechanicals and some assorted interior bits (some of which are inferior or meaningless to the USDM car) and USDM = JDM.

It amazes me that my thread was stickied at the very top of the forum and people still constantly make "how to import?" threads. Americans are so lazy! The information is right in front of you, learn to read and quit wasting bandwidth! If you can't read a few paragraphs, what makes you think you're capable of importing a car from another country?
