Default Weird clutch cable problem

I figured I'd post this in the crx/ef section since there's more info on the topic here. I just finished my auto to manual conversion on my Integra and I CANNOT get the damn clutch cable to work. I pulled it off a da at the junkyard myself, so I know It'll work. I tried adjusting it, hooking it up to the tranny first, visa versa but no dice. Can anybody out there point me in the right direction?

hooked up to the pedal

Comes up short in the bay

I tried routing it under the IM, not using the brackets, using them etc.

Have you tried putting it in the clutch arm first then in the cable bracket?

Yeah I've tried that too. The bracket won't even come close to bolting up. Geez, this is the second cable I've tried and the same thing.

The only thing I can't help but wonder is if the throw out bearing was installed wrong or something of that nature. How much further does the clutch arm go up in that picture?

It goes up until I can almost get the cable on (maybe an inch or 2 of travel), but not up enough.

Hmm... Well then the only thing I can guess would be something is wrong with the pedal assembly. Everything appears to be correct on the engine side of things. So can you maybe take a better picture of under your dash and how high your clutch pedal comes up? Are you side the pedal assembly isn't hung up on something or there isn't something behind it when you installed it?

Yeah, I've pretty much narrowed it down to inside the cabin. There's only so many factors involved here, I'm stumped. I did yank a bit on the assembly while removing it from my shell, but I seriously doubt I tweaked things that much.

Well it looks like it may be further from the hole than it should be. Maybe you could go back to the junkyard for a reference gander?

My friend kinda had a similar problem when he swapped his Y1 for a YS1. The clutch bracket on the YS1 was sitting too low so he took the one off of his Y1 and it worked. Not sure if from factory they're different or maybe the owner before him bent the Y1 bracket but it worked for him. Hope maybe that helps......like "nevaevasatisfield" said, maybe go back to the junkyard and have another look.

Sorry I should've elaborated, what I said just seems like a bunch of mess. After his YS1 tranny swap the clutch cable wouldnt reach the throwout bearing arm. (and we pulled the tranny from a junkyard, so it wasnt like he bought it from some random dude that had beat it up.) So the cable was coming up too short so he swapped in the Y1 cable bracket and it reached the throwout bearing arm.

Thats what I was thinking too. I did check it out at the yard and it looks the same. Even in the write up I followed it shows the secondary hole further back.

Nonetheless I appreciate the effort

Thanks! This is news to me, I was under the impression all the brackets were the same. I was hoping someone on here ran into a similar problem. I'll have to go back to the pick'npull and try to compare brackets.
