93 DX - won't start after head work and head gasket replacement
Well this is my sisters car. We swapped a 94 d16z6 engine into it, it had a bad headgasket. It ran like ****. I took the cylinderhead off, cylinder#2 had a decent chunk out of the exhaust valve. So i replaced the valve, got the cylinder head resurfaced.
I put it all back together 2 days ago, and now the engine turns over, but it doesn't wanna start. It sat for 2 weeks. Now, i might need some help with this, because i know the vacuum lines are different in both vehicles.
Does any one know what this could be?
PS: ohhh and it SOMETIMES starts, rarely. It'll run when im hitting the gas pedal. But if i dont touch it, it stalls. It also runs like complete ****.

Besides this and what marc said, check to make sure you plugged the engine harness in tight at the shock tower plugs. I once spent a couple of days trying to figure out why a swap would barely start and run, turns out I didn't plug the middle 4 wire plug on the driver's shock tower in tight and only 2 injectors were firing. I've also had issues with the thermostat ground before as well.

It's been a while since I've done one of these, but I'm almost positive the you don't need to remove the thermostat ground bolt to remove the thermostat. IIRC there are two bolts that hold the two halves of the housing together and a third bolt for the ground.
I was also more or less seeing if the guy did a head gasket job and kept an old t-stat.
If the T-stat ground is loose or disconnected, then there will be no spark or fuel (assuming OP really tested for both). In this case, focus on the mechanical timing and whether the plug wires are installed in the correct firing order.

i replaced the MAP sensor, and i realized i had put some connector plugs in the wrong spots.
She runs good now, thank you all for your generous help!
Also thank you RonJ@HT for the diagrams. Now i don't have to keep searching on google haha.

ahhh fair enough lol
and thanks man, I'm just used to working on my stealth, not a honda lol.
Also, it already had a new T-stat... headgasket was leaking oil badly, cylinderhead was warped.
