Gsr into ek hatch bogs down
I have a 98 gsr motor fully rebuilt that went into my 97 honda civic. The problem is at like 2-4k rpm it bogs down like the key is off then I give it full throttle and it pulls fine.
Specs
98 JDM b18c Motor
B16A USDM Pistons
new distributor
new plugs 8mm accel
spark plugs ngk gapped to .50
timing set to red mark on crank pulley
d16y7 stock fuel pump
stock gsr ecu
new fuel filter
super tech flat faced valves
no cat dc 4-1 header to 2.5 inch piping to stock muffler
any ideas?
happened after i put an o2 sensor in a used one conisidence maybe?
only got a cel for 2ndary o2 sensor and my iacv may be bad

fix the IACV first then get a secondary 02 problem solved... IACV will make your car stumble "bog" when its messed up and also your tps of course and lastly a CEL for 02 is bad
Tried cleaning didnt work so I replaced it with a known working one. Still same problem I am believing its the fuel pump
Spec for d16y7:
Pressure should be: 260 - 310 kPa (2.7 - 3.2 kg/Sq.cm, 38 - 46 psi) with vaccum hose disconnected from regulator
Reconnect vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
Pressure should be: 200 - 250 kPa (2.0 - 2.5 kg/Sq.cm, 28 - 36 psi)
Spec for gsr:
B18C1, B18C5 engines: 320 - 370 kPa (47 - 54 psi) Disconnected
B18C1, B18C5 engines: 260 - 310 kPa (38 - 46 psi) Connected

So after my fuel pressure test here are my results:
Disconnected fpr: 42
Connected fpr: 36
At idle
That's with a d16y7 I'm guessing I need a higher volume fuel pump so I guess I'll pick up a walbro pump what do you guys think

in my opinion the fuel pump has more then enough pressure/flow for a na b18c1 you just need a fuel pressure regulator from a gsr to make it right! but still check it after you install one! Are you running the oem gsr intake manifold? If so are your secondary butterflies hooked up and functioning properly or are the unhooked? this may cause some weird running issues.
Are your water neck grounds all there and tight? Just trying to narrow a few things down. i would start hooking up manual gauges up and testing fuel pressure ,timing, injector signal, vacuum ect... Sure sounds electrical to me though!

What fuel hose are you using? I'm talking about the hose going from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. My friend and I did a ITR swap on his 97 hatch and it was bogging out pretty bad. We found out that the fuel feed hose was incorrect and the car wasn't getting enough fuel.
As far as fuel pumps go, the GSR/Si/ITR fuel pumps are slightly larger volume than the non-VTEC cars. But it shouldn't be so drastic as to cause your car to bog that bad.
What injectors are you using? OBD1 or OBD2? And what ECU?

Ya **** I am re using the old fuel hose from the hatch I can't believe I didnt think of that which hose do I need the GSR one or could I use a SI one? Also im OBD2 with a P72 ECU and OBD 2 LS/GSR injectors.

The hose my friend ended up using was from a 5G prelude because that's what they had laying around at the shop we went to for parts. I think you should be fine with a GSR or ITR or Si one.
I have the same problem with my B20 in my EG. Last night I replaced the PCV valve and I disconnected my O2 sensor. Car ran normal but obviously I had poor gas milage without having a O2 sensor. I'm going to reconnect the O2 sensor today to be sure that it was just the O2 going bad and not the PCV valve, based on what happened with your situation I'm going to bet it is the O2 sensor. Hope that helps!
