Default 91 ef fuel pump/starting issue.

I have a 91 ef with a b18a1 coverted to obd1. The car has had previous issues with jumping into limp mode on cold starts sometimes and just at random. It would also take it self out of limp mode without reseting the ECU. SO now i went to go start it one day, and it has a solid check engine light that used to go out before the car started, and it just turns over and the fuel pump won't prime. i have replaced the master relay. Its not a bad ground i know that. Any ideas?

Fuel pressure?
Check it and try a new regulator
YOur fuel pump not priming is bad, could be a bad pump clogged fuel filter
We are dealing with 20 year old cars
Check your grounds
I thought ignition switch but I don't think that would cause a cel
What cels are you throwing?

no fuel pressure at all. its converted to obd1 by the previous owner, and who knows where or if he even added the pigtail to get the cel to flash, so i no idea what code its just a solid cel. do you think it might be the ecu?

are you checking your pressure at the filter or the fuel rail
I never deal with a swap, but ecus do go bad. It might be your ignitor, piece inside your dizzy. Best to replace whole dizzy because once the ignitor goes. the dizzy follows

Even with a bad dizzy it shoul have fuel pressure. Test power at the pump. See if your getting proper voltage there.

Why would you tell him to replace a dizzy if he has no fuel pressure. I would check the power at the pump like the other guy said i would also check the fuses.

If you don't have any testers on hand. Take a piece of hose stuff it in the gas filler opening. put the other end of the hose to your ear have someone turn the key three or four times. this will let you hear if the pump is working or not. Have you also checked the main fuel pump relay. Do you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key to the on postion. it should sound like it's coming from under the dash.

if your car is not getting enough fuel it will cause a cel.

Google obd1 ecu pinouts. I believe the scs pinout is d4. You will have to ground it in order to get your codes.
