Default ls/Vtec Question!

Picked up my b18b motor and goin to do a lsv build. Just wanna throw my plans out there and get some input or suggestions. This will be a DD and wanna have the power when i wanna play around.

B18b1 block
B16 head
ls rods, shotpeened
p30 pistons? or ITR?
stock crank and bearings
arp studs and bolts
gsr water pump
gsr oil pump
gsr t-belt
Headgasket? oem?

Also, any sugg on ecu's or wire harness? i have a y8 and would i be able to use that harness with mods?
Any opinion please let me know, ive been researchin like crazy but not too much luck on what im lookin for

checking out a compression calculator and with oem ITR pistons p73-a0, oem head gasket, the compression in around 12:1. But if i build the head with a mild cam would i have any clearance issues? Ive read that i should be careful with that

i would honestly do p30 pistons! no clearance issues and compression is still decent!

ecu i would go with is p28.. and use obd1 wireharness, obd1 searches for less sensors than obd2!

is your wiring harness obd1 or obd2? either way ur going to have to get a wiring harness that has vtec, cause if u dont then ur gonna have to put vtec into your wiring harness.. and oem head gasket wont work, u need hybrid (cometic) head gasket (81.25mm).. and conversion harness? dont u mean obd jumper cables?

Most of the time people use the stock harness that comes with the car and modify it to their needs (add/remove wires or sensors) unless they have a really off the wall setup.

my car is a 2000 so the ecu is obd2b i believe, i just gotta get jumper harness for the ecu. i thought i could use an oem gsr headgasket even if i bore it to 81.25. i read that the ls headgasket covers up some coolant passages and what not. gonna use the headgasket of the head i use.

yes just gotta get the jumper cables.. then you would be set! make sure when u get your tune that u either ant to use the new tune map or the stock map sensor, if not tell them uwant your ecu to run and not your map sensor i believe.. lsvtec head gasket is just a good suggestion but its your build and if u want to use your head gasket then go for it! the cometic head gasket just helps and it doesnt cover most of the collant flow!

phearable is a nice set up! my last b16 ran beautiful! and yes it will be good for everyday use if u do everything correctly! if u followed the link i sent u then u will be in the go zone! im just telling u this info because im actually in my lsvtec build process! be sure to get better injectors to, sense u will have high horsepower possinly! if not go with your injectors! im using dsm 390cc injectors with a resistor box so when u send in my ecu i will have good enough fuel flow!

phearable also sells p28 ecu's.. u can actually order it and tell them to keep it there and then mail in your setup and they will put it on the chipo and install then they will mail it back to you with 3 to 5 business days! thats what i did! they also sell jumper cables from obd2 to obd1!

hey no problem! and yeah ohearable is pretty good!

stock b16 injectors are 240cc and can handle somewhat close to 170 or 180hp.. 310 cc can handle 190hp to about 210hp.. i may be wrong! but yeah id go with 310cc, make sure u figure out if your obd2 is high impedence or low impedence injectors! bc if ur running high impedence and ur ecu is programed for low impedence then u will have to install a resistor box..
