Default Over heating with thermostat in and fine with it out.

I have been trying to fix this for some time now. Im to the point where I dont know what else to try. Here is whats happening:

The car will run just fine with no overheating when the thermostat is out. It will also heat up like normal.

With the thermostat in though, the car will over heat within 15 mines of driving. When I pop the hood the radiator is super hot on top and if you feel the bottom of it you can hold you hand on it because it is cold like the car was never on.

So I thought it was the radiator so i got a new one and put it in and it has had the same problem. So next i got a new thermostat and put it in (The right way) and it still did the same thing. So i checked to see if i had a blown head gasket by looking at the oil and coolent and there both just fine.

I did bleed the cooling system of all air so its not an air pocket.

I also it has a new water pump, But it is an ebay one so idk if that could be the problem or not.

So if you have any idea what this could be let me know cuz i have ran out of things to check.

It's a myth that a blown head gasket will always produce one of these^ symptoms, or even white smoke in the exhaust.

Buy a test kit that detects exhaust gas in the coolant.

Does your radiator fan work properly?

its called a BLock tester you can get it at any parts store it gives you some liquid to see if you have exhaust gas in the coolant

Not one to bash eBay products however I would start here, here's why. If the car runs fine (no other issues) without the thermostat there is a possibility that the vane on the water pump is pushing coolant back wards. With the thermostat removed the coolant is able to flow back wards (if you will) and somewhat cool the engine. However once the thermostat is installed the piston side that is supposed to heat up and allow the thermostat to open is on the wrong side of the coolant flow and will never open. It's definitely worth a look.
Good luck, keep the updates coming.

Honda replacement Tstat, or some junk from the local pepboys?

Have you tested the new Tstat to see if it opens and closes properly?

Interesting possible cause; if this was happening , could you watch the coolant flow with the rad. cap off during start up? On a full rad. one should see flow coming into the rad. from the top hose on engine start.....correct.

You can squeeze the radiator hose and feel if the water is running through or not. If your not getting water flow, then the thermostat isnt opening or your water pump isnt doing its job right.
