If you bring your car to a detailer, they spray your engine down with a pressure washer.
I think you'll be fine.
Although sometimes they get the distributor wet and it wont start.

you'll be fine i just washed my motor with degreaser and a bucket yesterday all i did was let the water dry off as long as your spark plug wires seal the plugs and you're going to be fine just make sure you take off the fitler if you have a SRI or a CAI to see if any water got into the tube

Do you think the engine stays dry when you drive in the rain????

And a bit of water on the filter is fine too, you have a problem when the filter can suck in alot of water, and hydrolock the engine. You do want to keep water out of the plug holes and distributor as much as possible though.

The only problem I've ever personally experienced with water and an engine was when my friend went to start her car after we sprayed the engine bay down and it wouldn't start up. Turned out the seal in the distributor cap was bad and it leaked.

I've sprayed down loads of engines wit a pressure washer and never had a problem except for that one (that one I only used a garden hose with even).

You should be fine today when you start up...I was swapping out my hood for a lighter hood and before I attached the new hood I drove down the street without my hood and it started to rain. Im still running
