Default JDM b18c ecu

Hey guys, so i have a 98 b18c engine jdm. The motor itself is i believe to be a 98. The year is in that little circle near the exhaust manifold. So my problem is i have a p72-103 ecu. I want to put in a USDM ecu from the gsr. Do i need a p72-a03 or a p72-a04?

You have a 98 chasis? Then get one from 96-99. As they are all obd2a

my car is a 98 civic hx but the year the motor was built was in 98 i believe. So the engine most likely came from a 99 gsr

As long as it is a an ob2 wiring harness on the motor the ecu for the gsr will work. but it wont run to the full potential of that motor. because the ecu is not the same tuning specs from the factory as the R ecu! personally i would go to speedfactory and have them make me a ecu and tune it. thats what i always do lol!

I'm running a P72-A02 on my B18C (GSR) and it runs great. The A03 and A04 should be the same, just from different year cars.

my motor is not a type R motor. It is a jdm gsr motor. I believe the year the motor was built was in 1998 because it says 9/8 right above the manifold. I think the a04 was for the years 98 and 99 but if im wrong someone please correct me before i spend $130 on a ecu
