Entire floor sopping wet 95 Civic hatch
So my friend has a 95 Civic hatch and the entire floorboard is/was sopping wet since it was purchased. I've read through several threads regarding wet floors and have tried several suggestions, though in the threads I saw only a part of the floor was wet.
I pulled the seats and carpet from the car, dried up the floor with towels and looked everything over. It was only the floor that was wet, the spare tire well behind the back seat was completely dry.
With the car outside I had my friend spray down the whole car along every seal... Windshield, doors, windows, and hatch. No leaks! I even got underneath the car and looked for rust spots... nada.
The car doesn't have a sunroof or AC, so it can't be the drain tubes for those. I've checked the coolant and it's full, there's no coolant smell in the car and the heater works just fine, so I'm eliminating the heater core as a source.
For now I told my friend to drive it without the carpet and see if water still comes in. Hopefully we'll be able to spot the source. I just finished putting everything else back together and parked the car, it sits outside. For now it's dry since I dried it up, but we'll see what happens.
Does anyone else have any suggestions or explanations as to why the entire floor would be soaked?

sit in the car (with the windows and doors closed all the way) with someone on the outside running water over the car. look and listen for the leak.
sunroof, side glass, doors, check the driver floor (sometimes it leaks through the antenna ) all while running water all over the car.
hope you find it

I'll look for that drain hose. Otherwise, I did sit inside as my friend sprayed the car down. No apparent leaks.
Will definitely be looking for that drain hose.

Check under drivers wheelwell where hood cable goes thru. If the grommet/boot thing isnt sealing the hole, water flys in.
Does it have fender liners?

I'll be checking out all of these possibilities...
I did have a nozzle on the hose, we were using a jet stream on it, so there was a bit of pressure wherever the water was hitting.
I'll check out the previously mentioned areas and post feedback once it's thoroughly investigated.

do you have a sunroof ???
Any luck finding the leak? I have a 95 sedan that only the passenger side leaks. I also have poor heat. Not to hijack your thread but can anyone elaborate on the heatercore leaking and causing this problem?
I have no coolant leaks, or smell of coolant in the cabin.
I also feel there must be a hole beneath the wiper cowl possibly. I should look into that aswell. Hmm. This sucks.

Had a friend with the same problem and it was a bitch to find the source, he took it through an automatic car wash wish the interior gutted as much as possible and he found the leak... the added soap made finding the entrance point much easier
I will try the carwash suggestion. I smelled the liquid that had leaked in and it smelled nothing like coolant. Definitely water and not the heater core since the heat works quite well.
In case you are still having that wet passenger floor problem, might want to check the weatherstrips under the cowl. I checked the A/C drain hose and sealed the gaps in the body panels per the TSB. Floor was still wet. I then replaced the corroded weatherstrips on the underside of the cowl. Problem solved. Here's a link to a writeup I found: http://www.team-integra.net/forum/19...placement.html
i have a 95 civic ex coupe and it has a wet drivers side floorboard only after rainy weather. The more it rains, the more water appears. it appears to be coming in from the clutch master cylinder? i can't really tell and i need help.
to try and fix the leak i have replaced the windshield (it was under warranty from when it broke earlier), and i did that seam sealer thing, too. But i used a different urethane sealer, and i couldnt properly apply the sealant to those really tight areas so i just got as far as i could and used a bunch. (and i never really degreased the area before i sealed it.)
Please help. im frightened and worried.
