How Do You Guys Mount Your Blocks to Engine Stands?
I was going to use the tranny bolts to put my spare block on my stand, but they're not even long enough to clear the brackets on the stand. I went to Home Depot, and the closest thing I could find was a 12mm X 1.75 thread, but that was too coarse. Then I was looking at the SAE fine thread stuff, and that looks like it'd match up alright, but they didn't have any in 1/2", which would be the closest thing to 12mm.
Also, are flywheel bolts 14mm 12pt? I assumed they were, since the clutch bolts are 12mm 12pt, and my Helm's says the flywheel bolts are 2mm wider in diameter.

All the tranny bolts I have with my spare block are like 2.5" long, and don't even clear the brackets on the stand
Look in the yellow pages under fasteners. The bolts should be 12x1.25x whatever length you need. I'm sure you can call the place I bought mine, Maryland Metrics they will ship them UPS.
Heh still trying to get that thing mounted... Wish I had longer bolts to give to you when you took the block home... Thanks again for the help taking it out.

all you need are washers to make up for the excess length of the tranny bolts.
my SOHC tranny bolts were 12mmX1.25 extra fine thread.
i just cut about an inch off of the stand arms to the bolt woudl have some meat sticking out the other side.
