So I recently installed a Hondata CPR on my car, a buddy has double checked my wiring and says everything looks good. We have the correct version of Hondata and followed the steps for turning COP on correctly. We have power getting to CPR box, but the ignition light will not turn on when the key is turned over. Any troubleshooting tips out there?
Crank the engine for approx 0.5 seconds. Does the IGN (red) light flash? Yes - go to the next item. No - check the ignition wire from the Coil Pack Retrofit to the ECU is connected to the correct pin in the ECU connector.
well we found that the signal wire was droppin voltage when cranking. went from 12.8 to 0.3 to 0.1 volts. In the fuse box for 92-95 civic it has a srs unit that is optional and it was dropping voltage at the ignition switch plug also which plugs into this srs unit slash fuses that are all with it. Its where the srs harness plugs into that runs to ur actual control unit for your airbag if applicable.Ok so removing that little srs plug and fuses out of the actual fuse box (under dash). There is a plug for the ignition switch under all of that when you remove it. That fixed that part the car started to sync and ignition light came on while cranking. BUT the car would not try to start until you let of the switch it would try to pop or seems to fire. So another problem I found the black with yellow on the distributor which is the internal coil wire I think. Anyway you wire all of the blk/white wires on the cpr harness. That blk/yel wire was dropping voltage also. Long story short we had to jump the wire from the ignition plug blk/yel to the cabin harness right after the fuse box blk yellow also. yea i tried another fuse box same problem. im not sure if s300 can cut of a signal like that but it runs right now and the ignition switch isnt fused from the factory. I dont like the idea of jumping it so im gonna dig a little further and see what i can find. Srry for the story but i went thru a lot to figure it out. I will update if i can get around not jumoing the wire.

I'm getting the same problem only this is on a '97 Civic with OBDII to OBDI conversion harness. I have wired in the CPR and all I get is the green power light and the red ING light flashing while cranking. Yellow SYNC light does not come on and car will not start. I have an OBDII-OBDI conversion harness with a PR4 and Hondata s300. I have harness variation A. I soldered power into A11 and soldered ground into A10 of my original OBDII harness. I removed wire at A21 and put the Orange (ICM) wire of the CPR into pin A21 of the OBDI connector as I was told not to use A22 which doesn't matter anyways because I did try A22 and got the same results. I wired the White/Brown (SNYC) wire into A16. There was NOT a wire in A16 to remove. I went into Smanager, Misc., and enabled SYNC for ALTC. The coils are not firing the plugs. Please help.
Got mine figured out if anyone cares. Turns out I have an odd ball ECU that does not have a complete ALTC circuit on the board that is used for the SYNC on the CPR. Did a lot of back and forth with Matt over there at Hondata and he found out through a lot of research that there are a few ECUs out there that are missing a transistor on the ALTC circuit. If you are interested, there is a great write up on the Hondata forum titled "CPR Wiring Help!" Looks like a few people are going to be running into this problem in the near future. Hondata is in the know now and I'm sure they will be making some changes and letting people know of the problem.
