Noise
My Accord F22A1 engine with 170,000 miles makes a really annoying noise in the engine. When it is cold the valves knock so loud that you can hear it inside the car. When the car is warmed up the loud noise goes away but you can still hear it. When you accelerate it gets louder.
The thing is that when you adjust the valves the sounds go away, But they come back a few days later. What can cause this to happen.

not tightening the valve tightening nut enough after adjustment. or not making sure the adjustment stays the same while tightening. you need an open ended wrench and a flat head screwdriver. use the screwdriver while tightening to make sure the center adjustment stays the same. check the valve clearance again after tightening and adjust again if necessary. make sure your using the correct feeler gauges
Ok so today I redid the adjustment and it sounds better. The car calls for exhaust .30mm +.02, -.03mm. The .012" I was using for exhaust was actually too loose. So I used .011" which is .287mm which is on the tighter end but still in spec.
