Ok so i dont know what to call it. But the threads in the block where the head stud goes into are crossthreaded and stipped. What is the best way (if any) to go about fixing this. Or should i just trash the block and get new one. Thanx in advance.

 

M12-1.25 thread tap get it at your local auto store and hopefully it works but before you put the head back on put the stud in the hole that you fixed.

 

no, if the threads are stripped the material is gone. Best way to fix it is a time-sert or what is also known as an insert. Google it and that would be the best way and will last.

 

Oh yea your right i feel dumb. Yeah get the inserts.

 

See thats what i was thinking, would they actually be able to withstand the pressure though without moving. Im worried that as soon as they get force on them they will start to pull out.

 

Ok so i just looked at that and ive never seen anything like that before, i was thinking something like a hetacoil that looks like it will be a lot better

 

Time-set makes a honda head stud repair kit. We have it and have used it on damaged sleeved blocks that make over 650hp. It works great.

 

Do you know where i can find said set?
