Default Need your help again.

Hi all. Hope you all had a good Christmas and a safe new years night out..

First off on my 1990 Accord I replaced the main(fuel pump) relay and only had 2 problems since where the car fires and dies right away like 5 to 10 times before firing and stay running.

Now on to the new problem. The temp gauge will drop to "C" when I get on the highway and get on it. I noticed that the other night when I drive the speed limit the gauge stays at about half way. Now today coming to work car warm I put the heat on as it is cold out and in the two mins I drove between the time I put the heat on and got to work the temp gauge was on C again. I have checked to level of the antifreeze and it is full. Antifreeze has a nice lime green color but I havent tested it.

I got a new thermostat and just because Im gonna be right there I got a new temp sensor. Does it sound like Im doing the right thing by changing the thermostat or am I wasting my time and its something else.??

Also have a 2004 Accord with less than 50,000 miles and everyone in a while the heat will blow cold. I dont know what the gauge is saying as it always blows hot for me. I also got a new thermostat for this and will be installing both on Saturday. Am I jumping the gun on this one or does it sound about right.
I appreciate any and all answers

your temp sensor wire might be broken somewhere. when it does that to you, check for continuity between the plug and ecu

Replace the t-stat and you should be fine....I'd do that before replacing any switches.

As far as the temp gauge. Yes the single wire temp sending unit is a "ground" of sorts so it could loose ground/broken wire between the sender and the gauge....the ecu is not part of this....so the check is different that what was posted already
