Default Plugs on B20 block how the F do u get em out?

Looking to vent the back of the block with a catchcan set up but I'll be damned if I can get these little f@&%ers out. Using a 14 mm Allen socket and just stripped one like these bastards are super glued. Any help/ideas to get them out would be greatly appreciated. Are they sealed with some kind of chemical on them loctite or something cause their a bitch.

5/8" deep spark-plug socket. try bumping them tight to break the seal first then back them out. Nothing but anti-sieze should ever be used on plug threads.

I agree. Using 1/2 drive socket and they aren't budging.

......not quite sure what you mean but 5/8 and 14mm are different? 5/8 spark plug socket won't fit,not even close.

he isnt talking about spark plugs, he's referring to the block plugs on the back of the block

WOW. Sometimes I just need to read slower. If you stripped out the allen heads...at this point...you may be SOL without the help of a machine shop.

i used a 14mm socket like this:

I had to use a combination of extensions as its quite cramped in there.. I used a breaker bar and with 1 quick pull i got them to break free. Its a bitch with a socket wrench.

This was a breeze for me. Motor was still in the car but the head was off so it made a difference.

Yeah this is what I used. Think I'm going to break out the flame and heat them up. Only thing that sucks is they do look like they are aluminum and easily stripped if you apply too much torque. What a freaking pain in the ***.

Do you have a picture of the plug that you attempting to remove? I may be off but since a catch can is your goal and most plugs on the block are either coolant or oil pressure galleys it sounds like you may be attempting to tap into a oil pressure port. If not then carefully applying heat to the block (not the plug) may work if you haven't completely stripped it. If it is then I have on occasion used a slightly larger torx bit gently tapped into the plug. The tapping also helps break the seal and free them up too. Good luck!

What do you guys think about running the hoses like this to a "T" and then just running the one hose to a small vented can? Should be ok if those two holes on the block are connected as long as they vent somewhere right? Thoughts?

I agree with this, by using a T ineffect you might as well only run 1 line.
