Does anybody know why honda discontinued making newer model honda preludes?? i really want to know..

i can't post more than 5 so just edited... but i thought preludes are high demand

Bottom line, the car was not selling. The production numbers have gone downhill in the last 5-10 years bigtime, the stats tell it all.

 

They made the civic and accord too close in some areas as the lude, and they stole all of its market. Great car, but people would choose the lower prelude or a two door accord i4 or v6...too much choice.

 

Honda was only selling about 20,000 Preludes per year globally for the last few years - About half of those went to the US market. Compare that to almost 1,000,000 Accords per year globally. The Prelude lasted as long as it did as a loss-leader image car for Honda in the last 6 years or so.

for some reason i blame the accord coupe and civic si, not to mention integras... if honda had come out with a cheaper version of the prelude to match teh price of an integra LS it might have succeeded..

 

I think the Prelude was the richer mans version of the Integra. it had class, it had ***** and was nice to look at.
