ok so for years i saw this car sitting in a yard close to were i lived. so one day i decided to knock on the door there and ask about it to see if maybe they wanted to sell it
the girl that came to the door told me that it was her husbands car and it had been sitting for several years and assured me that it didn't run but i could look it over if i wanted, after doing so i asked how much they would want for it, after calling her husband she told me that they would take $600 for it and again swore to me that would have to have it towed if i wanted it. so i went home and got $600 a battery and an air tank, came back traded the money for the title, aired up the tires, and threw the battery in it. to her amazement i then started the car (it fired right up even with 3 year old gas in it) and took off
it was in pretty bad shape, they had hit a deer with it and it needed a front bumper, bumper support, both front fenders, a hood, and both driver side doors. i got i home and up on a lift, dropped the tank and drained it and cleaned it up the best i could and i was in business
this is the earliest pic i can find of it, this is after i had it a few months and had replaced the front bumper, bumper support, hood, both fenders, and corner lights, painted it white (it was light blue) and lowered it
then i took the front fenders and deck lid down to the metal so they would rust

i guess that gets us up to date.... i got a battery relocation kit today but haven't got it installed yet, I'm moving it to the trunk to make it easier to run power to my air ride, plus the added bonus of a cleaner bay
things will start to move along a lot faster here in about a month when i get my tax return so stay tuned

I thought kids were done with this kind of crap now days? Also, who in their right mind wants to rust their panels on purpose? I thought that was for rat-rods (which is still stupid). Great job on ruining a vehicle that showed a lot of promise...
I like the story.
Sorry though, seems your not going to get alot of positive feedback here with your build. The current trends don't seem to line up with what your doing. If your not wasting tons of money on JDM parts, performance parts, or stock parts your not cool.
But to each there own. Do what makes you happy. I will be curious about how much money you will get out of it if you sell it.

Ya know, I'm gonna step out of line and say "Nice work"
Your car = Your taste. If you like the rust and the mirrors...its all good.
The one thing I see, is you are not half-assing it. Your switches and bag set-up looks clean. Your steelies look like you did a good job....ect.
So, its not a factory correct restoration. You aren't spending tons of cash on an obscure JDM factory cassette player.
Let the haters hate, and keep us updated.

Man, if you told me you were going to put the mirrors on the fender, rust parts, and paint your steelies white, i would laugh at you and call you an idiot. But for some reason, I like this car.
I'd put mudflaps and MPFI it though.

mpfi and many more goodies to come... not mudflaps... sorry, they are against my vows
see that was a joke too, like the mudflaps one.... but seriously no mudflaps, they would become to much the wrinkle when the car is layed out and wouldn't take long to be all deformed and crappy looking
