96 Civic EX

I noticed some Black residue on the back bumper, more consistent with oil than carbon I think.

I did clean the throttle body the other day, is it possible I am blowing out residue from the cleaning through the exhaust?

Also, the last 2 days I was on it well into Vtec, I know when in Vtec you tend to burn off more oil. Can that be it?

No real noticeable smoking, except it is cold outside under 30 degrees so I see normal exhaust from the cold.

 

its probably oil from high rpm's happens to me in my car when i go over 5.5k

 

Sounds like rings are going.

 

I was thinking that too, but was curious since I just cleaned the throttle body maybe some excessive residue or is that wishful thinking.

 

Doubtful. You wan to see what the back of my wife's bumper looked like when the rings went?
