Automatic trans gear indicator light
Hi I have a question and was hoping someone with some knowledge could answer. I was looking at an 06 civic that was an automatic transmission today and think I may buy it. There is one kink that has me concerned, and it may be nothing. When I shifted the gears from park to reverse then forward etc, the indicator light on the stick or next to the stick (I can't remember actual placement) never changed. It just stayed in neurtal or whatever. The lights on the dash worked fine showing what gear it was in, but the light on the stick didn't move.
Is this just something minor like a bad fuse or sensor, or should I be worried. I've owned two civics before a 99 and an 01, both were manual transmission. I like manual, however I really need a car as my 01 was totalled and I feel like this car is a pretty good deal. I've done some searching but I can't find anything on this and don't really know what to search for. I'd appreciate any help because I'm prob going to buy it tomorrow. I just don't want something like when I got my 01 a week later the dash cluster randomly would just stop working. Ps the 01 sucked compared to the 99 lol.
Thanks

I would call that light a very minor problem, I myself have never had a honda console apart but I have had plenty of others apart.
Most have small cables that pull an indicator that lights up, the problems were mostly loose screws, or dust, a little cleaning and lubriaction usually repairs it.
