Post Ls/vtec b series header question?

I have available to me a true ANR header pictured below, for $500. The spending cap is at $500. Mid range is my main focus as this will be a street car, not an all out top end dragster screamer. Choices range between the PLM toda replica header, Skunk2 Alpha, or this ANR. One thing I like about the ANR is that, it's not a header just anyone can obtain after a few clicks on a pc, but then again that isn't my main focus. Any users with previous experiences with this particular header on a setup similar to this? Discussion welcome..

Below is a basic rundown of my build to put into perspective.

- P72 base (GSR)
- Ported/polished/3 angle valve job Done by USW w/ receipt
- Ferrea Stainless Steel valves (standard spec)
- Supertech titanium valve springs/retainers
- Head was shaved .010"
- NEW ARP headstuds
- NEW Port matched AEBS intake manifold, fully polished outside casing
- NEW Omni Power 68 mm TB
- NEW Toda timing belt
- NEW OEM Cam caps
- 3" Intake routed to the front bumper with BPI Velocity Stack
- Skunk2 Pro 2 + camshafts
- Skunk2 Pro series cam gears (newer design 6 bolt)
- Skunk2 3 O-ring Cam Seal
- OEM RDX 410 cc injectors
- Outlaw Engineering thermoblok spacer kit

Block:
- B18B1 base
- 81.5 mm Usdm ITR spec pistons (P73-A0)
- Decked/honed by United Speed World in Tampa
- Balanced to 10k (by Proven Power w/ receipt)
- Chipped P61 Ecu by Neal Sutton
- Skunk2 2.5" Exhaust

Static compression sits at 12.4:1 after calculated on Zeal Autoworks B series compression calculator.

Yes I reviewed the header test mikey did a few weeks ago and observed that the Skunk2 is built very sturdy, has great ground clearance. The Toda header beat it by a small margin. Have not found accurate information on this ANR header as I do believe they are no longer in production. Any input will probably serve as helpful. Thanks guys.

You didn't help at all. New information day by day, I want to make sure I am making the right choice. Issue with that? Kindly stay out of the thread. Pretty simple.

IIRC, you can't use PS or AC with the ANR header. Keep that in mind if this is for a street car. If you want mid-range power, the Toda or its replica will likely be hard to beat in a street car.

see the problem with this is and as clean rice was trying to point out.
this is thread 1 of 10000000 of the same question and things.

get the toda header or rep. as many many many many dynos have shown toda or hytech are the best.
like the header test in this subsection.
its different on every application though so can't really for sure say how it'll work.

Million threads about this..

anr welds weren't great and there are better designed headers out there. They sure do look pretty though...at least thats what people say about bisimoto.

ANR's were produced by Andy and Randy, if i can recall, Randy from RMF and andy i'm not sure where from, but the headers did ok in power, but as the recent bisi test have shown the design isn't that great.

Well these do look like the d series bisimoto design but in a b series application. Glad I got a confirmation on these. I know the toda rep will make good power but then again it's a rep, kind of why I'm leaning towards the skunk2.

THE most discussed topic for 2011, and you're still making threads about it. Nothing new has come out. No new test has been done. The S2 Alpha is a new header. Use it. Don't make a thread, another pointless one at that, and THEN do "research" about ANR.

What is your budget.. Although the toda and skunk2 alpha will beat the majority of the choices out there. You can have a SMSP knock off, a RMF knock off and other knock offs for 450<.

With that said, and your motor's build up, its going to require something to follow your cam profile. The pro2's are a fairly decently sized cam and will want to be able to breath.

For the time being a s2 alpha, foda, or RMF replica should do you fairly well and thats the route i'd advise you to take.

I'm sold on the skunk2. I have so many other skunk2 parts, it would only be right.
