Default Another SS bites the dust.. ::SIGH::

1997 with 75k just lost 4th and 3rd gear today. I don't know if its the "regular SS tranny failure" or i drive hard which i don't. Did you know driving around when ur tranny is about to blow is so freaking scary? I was on the high way when 4th slipped off.. then LUCKILY an exit was infront of me. Then drivin locally to my friends house.. 3rd slips away. so i'm cruising around 1st and 2nd only. Its pretty weird.. it sounds like a freaking electronic weedwhacker...o yea.. you can only drive it in SS not reg auto mode. --------

anyways.. the car is infront of my friends house. questions/opinoins needed.
1. rebuild with level 10?
2. buy tranny from level 10 and pay labor.
3. let a repair shop repair it?--12 months 12k milage warranty
4. 5spd swap?

1. i called around a rebuild is like 1100 with 6month 6k warranty ( this place is some warehouse that specializes in tranny's) HhMMmm..
another place had 1450 12month 12k warranty
and last was like 1500 12 month 12k warranty

in that case, fix ur car as cheap as possible, dont get quality ****.. .just get it working... sell it and buy a 5-speed.... sounds evil but hey...

If you're feeling adventurous, do a 5spd swap yourself. It would be really cool if you could bolt up a tranny from a 4th gen. Those had better ratios so you would be quite quicker.

that's what i'm thinking...fix then sell. no questions asked. ShhhHH keep it on the DL. anyways.. that's just mean, i'm a nice guy.. so i can't do that.

where are all the pple with level 10 upgrade? i don't see them having input? cause level10 tranny rebuild kit for honda's are the cheapest. $302. and i'll just find some cheap place to install. it looks easy i dunno.

pple with level 10 GIVE ME INFO. TELL ME ITS WORTH IT!
