Default 95 sedan major oil leak

stock engine: f22b2 with 255k

I figured I'd make a new post to make things easier.

I have a major oil leak coming from behind my engine. I found out it was coming from between the block and head because I put my headgasket on backwards -___- I flipped the headgasket over to where it was supposed to be but now it's leaking even more oil now.

Is it possible I warped the block/ and or head? I drove around like this for a little over a week before I flipped the gasket, no overheating though.

Could the gasket be so soaked in oil that it'll still cause the same leak from the same place. If so should I just replace the gasket, or get some gasket repair stuff?

I plan on getting a new engine with my tax return, but I need this engine to last untill then. A buddy of mine jokingly said I should just jb weld over the leaking area, but if i plan to junk this engine in a couple of months could that possibly be the quick fix i need?

Any help or advice would help, I have off work the next 2 days so i'll be looking at/tearing apart the engine and updating this on the reg.
thank ht!

You have more of a chance warping the head because of over heating. Was the head warped before the headgasket, did the car over heat?

What brand headgasket? Good chance the gasket got distorted, very rare for a gasket to leak oil in the first place. I would get another gasket and do it again, but make sure you follow the proper torque specs etc.

The car DID NOT over heat, and i'm pretty sure it wasnt warped before cause I never had this problem untill i accidentally put the gasket on wrong.

I picked up a new gasket and I'll be installing that today. I'll take a look at things while i'm down there to make sure it wasn't anything else. So expect an update by tonight. Thanks again guys

Check the oil pressure switch. Those leak like Julian Assange.

The switch is fine, that was the first thing I checked.

So, I'm just about to take the head off, I'm setting the head to tdc and I realised my crank is about 90 degrees away from tdc, also, I marked the belt and cam gear with white out and those marks are about 3 teeth off. Could this be the cause of my engine leak? The car ran great just like this so I'm baffled!

Now the crank and cam timing???? Something isn't addining up?

Marks on the belt and gear, well they are only good on initial install, from there only X number of revolutions of the engine/belt and they will line up at some point, use a different color.

Honestly I have no idea, I quadruple checked the timing when I replaced the belt and did the head gasket the first time.

But I replaced the head gasket, copper sprayed that crazy *****, and no more leaks! So I'm happy, my main goal is to keep this engine alive until I can sell my civic hatch and get a h23 set-up going.
