Need Help With GC/Koni Install on Ep3
I recently bought a GC/koni yellow combo,I've gutted the front struts and had the new konis pressed in.I was going to install the Gc sleeves on the struts so following the directions that came with the Gc's step one:Remove gold cap on strut so the Gc sleeve can slide over it......Soooo I used a pipe wrench and unscrewed the koni yellow cap while unscrewing i heard a pressure release
Similar to the one i heard when i drilled the bottom for the intial cartridge install....Now my strut has no rebound and i can push the strut shaft up and down with little resistance so now I'm at a stand still until i figure out if this is normal Beacause the instructions clearly state to remove cap and replace after sleeve install...If any one has installed this setup on a ep3/dc5 and can give me some helpfull insight it would be greatly appreciated

I know bro..Luckly I had another pair on deck,So today i had the mess up pulled out and the new ones pressed in this time around I'm going to shave down the collar instead of removing it even though the Ground control instructions first step is to remove the collar so the sleeve can fit over the shaft!!! and these are specific instructions for the koni yellow ground control combo, But hey what ever i also found that the Ep3 rear bushings are a a Solid washer that is incorprated into the bushing so basically you have to drill them out so the new koni shaft can fit threw them or replace them with rsx type s rear bushings wich I did and i also got rsx bump stops the ep3 stock suspension setup is inferior to that of its cousin the rsx for a race inspired hatchback it has some serious down falls makes me love my Rex's double wishbone even more any how going to finish it up tomorrow and hopefully it rides as nice as every one says it should.......
I'm gonna do a write up when the job is done and i get it out on the track to see what it really can do!.....P.S. F*** the new mcpherson strut setup and Ground Controls half ***
