crx wont rev past 3,000
i have a code 4. crank postioning sensor. give u a little back ground. crx hf d15b2 dpfi to mpfi. swaped out dizzy to nowing working dizzy changed notheing still have code checked wires at dizzy those seem intacked checked ecu seems ok seen some write ups about swaping wires on ecu c1 c2 b10 and b12 i think it was but dont think i have to do that cause hf chasey to si engine harnes would work. need help my brain is mush from looking at wireing diagrams. it runs and idles but wont rev past 3,000 it acts like it has launch control at 3,000 help me pls
Well it is stuck in limp mode which would make your car not rev past 3,000. Try replacing the crank position sensor, Or might seem crazy but remove it turn motor by hand to top dead center then put the cps senor back in. Some times it makes a difference worth a try.
Unfortunately, sometimes the conversion harnesses aren't put together right, the solder joints aren't good, and/or wiring gets mixed up. I personally would start by taking a multimeter and pinout the wires in question to verify there isn't a break and they go into the correct spot. Most likely it is a wiring problem; do some checking and report back.
what ECU do you have?
what distributor do you have? - should be TD02U or TD18U - has round 7-wire connector and round 2-wire connector like this:

i dont undrstand i have hf chasey harness it all plugs and plays with si engine harness except for the one plug driver side fire wall wich are injectors swaped them around already witch was my first problem it fired up purd like a kitten but wont rev past 3000 do i have to swpe some wires at ecu and witch one ive read something about c1 c2 to b10 b12 or something like that but i dont think it needs to be done cause the use of si egine harness to hf ive been told shoul work
your car is in limp mode because of the blue/yellow. blue/green wires no being read at the ecu, as well as the skinny white, orange wire combo at the dizzy not being read.
that will always throw it into limp mode good sir!

well heres what i got c1 blue green c2 blue yellow b10 green yellow b12 white . thats what is already their all write ups i find is for dx so its making me very confused cause they talk about orange and white in b10 b12 help me please what exactly do i have to do ive research but cant find on hf just for dx
dpfi --> mpfi . only HF/SI came with MPFI.
Another indication of you having a dx is the D15b2. Only DX came with the b2's. hf came with b6 and si came with the almighty D16a6.
If you had to do a mpfi conversion then it is NOT a hf.
If you are still insisting that you have an hf, here are some clues as to if you really do have an hf(off topic i know but lets get some facts straight before we give you wrong information)
-hf came with a D15b6.
-RPM redlines at or around 5k ( i dont remember)
-Does NOT have steering wheel tilt
-NO rear windshield wipers
-88-89 hf came with PILLAR mounted seat belts. (if your crx is a 90-91 then forget this)
Anyways, here is my guess to help fix your situation.
-->To my understanding it sounds like you have done the conversion wrong at the distributor area (many people have done the same). I am not sure at all since i have never done this conversion myself but their are (2) wires at the distributor plug. 2 white wires(actually one is orange, just really faded...) that you might have crossed over during the conversion. maybe that is your problem?
Good luck.
had this same case. code 4 and in limp mode.
When you switch the orange and white wire (one of the first steps when converting from dpfi to mpfi) make sure the female pins on the wires grab the male end in the ecu. When the wires get popped out of the plug, its common that the female end pin gets bent or damaged and doesnt make a good connection with the ecu.
I checked and replaced the pins on the orange and white wires with good ones, and code 4 went away, and so did limp mode.

theproblem i hav their is no ornge wire at ecu just blue/ yellowc2 blue/ greenc1 and whiteb12 and greenyellow b10 their is no ornge wire at ecu to do wire swape at ecu with no orange is strange and confusing but i did any ways and got same problem by the way i appreciate all the replies the car has had same changes to it cluster changed to a whitface glowe in the dark crap and motor i dont think is original does have wipe inrear but think that was add cause wires are cut so that dosent work looks like theirs plug for one inside qtr panel
The wires at the ECU aren't always the same color under the hood. It would have made a lot of things easier if Honda would have made the wire the same color/combination from start to finish.
Here read this as well very slowly top to bottom about 10 times. This is the easiest swap to do... It's around 4 wires... You must be rushing too much or are easily confused. There are 100's of write-ups on this. You aren't swapping all the wires you have to ADD some as well...

this what i have at c1 b/g c2 b/y b10 g/y b12 w thats mpfi already. the only wires i had to swap around on the plug was at the resister box on driver side for injectors so thanks for the links but i have found those witch are great write ups but they confuse me cause what ive been seeing is the the color of wires are where they belong for mpfi except the b10g/y this one b10 is the one that is strange according to mpfi wireing diagrams ive been finding seems to be a mind blowwer for me so i must asume it is really an hf witch is already mpfi chasey harness from what i have been researching aughhhhhhhhhh ok i feel better now lol
