Tuning intake close point
I have a B18B1 with Crower stage 2 cams. I have a B16A1 IM, B18A1 throttle body and Hytech rep header. I street tune my car with Crome.
I've been working on adjusting my cam gears. I know that moving the intake close point earlier promotes torque in the lower range while moving it the opposite direction promotes the upper range. I don't have any problem doing this the trial and error way but is there anyone who happens to have experience or any way to know which intake close point affects what RPM? For example maybe 31* is good for 6k-7k while 29* is good for 5k-6k? Anyone have any actual formulas or just real world experience that can pinpoint this a little more than just trial and error?
