power loss (d16z6)
Car runs totally fine until hittin about 4200 rpm then im getting what sounds like repeating backfires out the exhaust and a hug power loss untill i shift. Its fine again until i get to about 4200 again? Anyone have any idea's what it could be?
It really takes the fun out of the car haha. I am slightly built (stage 1 cam, cam gear, hondata s300 and all bolt on's) If that makes a difference?
Hope someone can help me!

Ya was all good. Its a brand new distributor about 6 months ago. Ive done all routine maintenance like fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, dizzy (It kicked the can), oil changes, timing belt, etc... I just have no idea, could it be something to do with the hondata s300?
Could it be a clogged cat?

ECU might be your culprit. The fact the car is fine at low RPM, then shuts the part down at such a specific RPM might signify some kind of computer error. But, I'm guessing. Definitely want to get it checked.
