Default What is the best way to learn? (interested in a 92-95 Civic Hatch)

So, I am very new to the import/ honda scene. I am interested in buying a 92-95 Civic Hatchback. What do you guys think is the quickest way to learn to play with the car, upgrading stuff, what to look for in a potential buy, ect. Thanks for any help you guys provide

Yep. Research, research, research.

Took 7 months of searching over 8 different Si models nationwide, having 2 deals falling through before I eventually found & bought the one I own.

start researching all over the internet and here.

here's a good place to start: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/faqs-frequently-asked-tech-questions-1998336/
start reading..

also just go on the forums and read peoples problems. you'll learn.

get a manual. read it.

do your own work. but research before you do it.

What are some things that you would not recommend a person that doesn't have very much tech experience starting? As much as I want to do it myself, messing with the engine and stuff makes me kinda nervous.

Ask yourself, "How much do I want to know about these cars? How much time am I willing to invest in learning about these cars? What do I want to know about these cars"?

If you don't have the technical experience, buy a car with not much problems, if you have a bud to help you out if something does happen, that would work.

I don't know about that. If he really wants to learn, and he has access to another car (or if he's still in high school) he can just get a piece of **** with a straight frame and build it himself. The best way to learn is from experience, and there's enough documentation out there that anyone with the right tools can do a frame up build on these things.

Start off with basic body work, once you're comfortable with that move on to suspension work. Once you've got that down, then you can start digging into motor and transmission rebuilds. A D is stupid easy to rebuild in the driveway on the weekend.

Just like everything since you were a kid. Take it all apart and put it back together. Get a Helms manual follow the instructions and get a good tool set.
