Default Dirty D series Del Sol build

so since my car is down, i figured id start a build thread for a friend of mine who owns a del sol. i will mainly be doing the wrench/fab work on the ride while the owner does the cosmetics like paint, rims and body etc. So far whats been done is the suspension has been modded with a set of lowering springs(non adjustable) on oem shocks that were replaced when the springs were installed. the ride height was dropped approx 1.5 to 1.75 inches. nothing fancy, nothing stupid low. which is ideal for houston driving because there are so many pot holes and dips in houstons streets its like driving through a minefield. literally. after that was done, the owner bought a turbo kit and had me install it. and unfortunately the kit was from egay(godspeed ftl) and only after 20 hours of being on the car the turbo is already starting to show signs of premature oil leakage. im currently in the process of contacting the seller to get a new one or what i might suggest doing is replacing the internals with a name brand rebuild kit and call it a day. luckly though, i had a turbonetics turbo for parts and the compressor housing was the same bolt pattern so i swapped that onto the new egay turbo for a little added size vs the shitty housing that came on the turbo. after we got everything mounted we realized the down pipe was completely out of alignment with the oem exhaust so i took the orig down pipe and modded it to at least function properly till the owner could get a new exhaust construted. next added on was a boost gauge, controller and fuel pump. thats about it for now, not bad in my opinion for a little less than 32 hours total work time put into the car. on to the pics as well as the video i took.

dinky *** i/c but it works

figured out that the -an fittings are leaking so took them back apart and wrapped them with teflon tape as well as the steel fitting on the pan. was kind of a pain in the *** to do.

then it is possibly the o2 if you even have one. sometimes(from what i know) a missing o2 can throw the car into safe mode and will not allow the car to hit vtec. or since(in you case) everything was hard wired, you might have to redo all of the wiring. i.e. replace the wiring and get a jumper harness and wire in the vtec and get an o2 jumper in order to make everything right again. i dont know your current setup or how badly is has been chopped up/thrown together so i cannot tell you exactly what to do first without more info.

Quick Note- I'm the owner posting on my friend's account. Don't take this build too seriously, as I am not either. It's all for fun, I do plan on building another d-series to go along with the kit as well as replacing some of the parts from the kit (turbo, FMIC, BOV, etc.) I also wanted to see how well these ebay kits hold up, and since I couldn't really find any good reviews on it, so I decided to buy it myself. Like I said, I'm just having fun right now.

went ahead and replaced the "+" oil t-fitting with a 3 port fitting. 1 male and 2 female ports. teflon-ed the fittings and installed it. no more oil leak!

went ahead and replaced the 19 year old intake gasket.

then had a nice hookah session after that.

Make sure you run a restrictor with the turbo.

Drain looked like it goes down then back up? Hard to tell by the pics. I have a couple oil tee adapters from fast-turbo.com if you're interested, BPST-NPT adapter and the t-fitting.

Who is tuning it?

ssshhhiiiitttt. i wish. but the rear center section makes for a great mounting area while in car, we literally fogged the *** out of that car last night. ppl were thinking we were smoking maddd weed when we opened the door. even got the cops attention lmao.

but on another note, i have now realized the car hits boost HARD in 2nd gear. get it up to about 3.5/4k and that bitch is GONE!

Egay turbo's can actually surprise you sometimes, emphasize on the "sometimes".. buddy ran one (just the turbo) on a 340whp b18 and it lasted about a year before he rebuilt it with a name brand kit.
But the Sol looks pretty good! You heat up that coal for the Hookah by puttin it on the turbo manifold and revin it like a BOSS?! hahah.

nahh mayne, i use it on the oven lol. but i have posted a question in the hybrid forum as well due to the fact that different motors are being adequate'd(proper terminology?) in this build. any ways, ya, this turbo kit has actually held up quite well to our surprise. i plan on emphasizing a custom setup after the obvious modifications are made. but on the other note. happy(belated) easter everyone!!

Hahah I was just playin, since you were at the meet and there likely wasn't an oven near by.
When you say other motors being.. utilized? in this build, Are you referring to the mini-me swap you did? (the z6 head on the d15 block), or do you have bigger plans for it later on?
