how do i know that i set my distributor right? i was driving and the car died and now im not getting spark. i switched it out twice and still not turning on.

Check whether the timing belt snapped and whether the distributor gets battery voltage on the Blk/Yel wire.

Yes n my cover is off.I found the problem. The pin on thecam gear broke

 

how the hell did that happen? did you take the cam gear off for some reason? I have only heard of this happing once, the person installed an aftermarket cam gear and didnt torque it down to spec. the bolt backed off and sheared it off but this was on a b series.

 

The Helm service manual outlines the correct way to set ignition timing to factory specs. hahaha this I know buddy, I was just saying that I didn't Know the OP didnt hit the motor with a timing light.

 

i didnt loosen the cam at all when i rebuilt it and as for timing light. i checked back then wen i first built the engine and it was good. i set timing when i built the engine and after it was running i checked it and it was good.
it is turbo as well
