Would an obd2 d15b be a direct replacement for the y8 in a 98 Civic EX?

Default Would an obd2 d15b be a direct replacement for the y8 in a 98 Civic EX?

I have a 98 ex that needs a engine and im having terrible luck finding a y8. Would this be a direct replacement for the y8? Assuming id just need the d15b ecu for the 3 stage vtec? Please help guys i need a vehicle to get to work in. Thanks for any help

Automatic or manual? If it's a manual it's not a big deal, wire in the second vtec solenoid and the EG-R valve and use the correct ECU (they're very hard to find) if It's an automatic you're screwed as far as running vtec-e as the automatic ECU is actually for a CVT tranny.
