Car randomly died, cant get alive.
Ok so yesterday went to a local discount liquor store in antisipation of the new year... anyways Start the car up, butter, head down there not a problem park go inside, come out and car wont start, ok so i think well its terribly cold out, must be my battery especially since i have no lights, stereo. not the case, i think its my starter, so I go to pop start, got it up gave it gas and it sputters then dies... whats weird is on my cluster my battery light is on as well as my CEL, if i hit the brakes the lights glow brighter.... so I got it towed home, now its out on the road, after messing with it some more if come to find out that the car will try to turn over, with the clutch NOT pushed in, as soon as I push the clutch it it wont even try to start or roll over. if i put it in gear and start it without the clutch it will grab and then die. iv checked all my fuses, and my connections on my starter, alternator and battery... im thinking possible neutral safety switch? I also took a volt meter to the battery, and she read 12.50 when i put the positive wire on the terminal there is a clicking (key not in the ignition) Im at a bit of a loss here any ideas are gratefully appreciated. Also my dad said it could be a fuse-able link? but I cant seem to find any except for what are in the fuse box and those are all still good. (from what i can tell at least)
yes i would definitely check the clutch switch. you can bypass it by using a wire to jump it at the connector. if you have a cel pull the code. main relay is also a possibility. the main relay can be resoldered or replaced at a cost of about $60. it is located way up under the drivers side dash behind the gauge cluster.
last but not least check all the grounds for clean connections. engine ground by the drivers side engine mount. transmission ground(starter ground) from the bottom of the tranny up to the negative battery terminal/frame. ecu ground-if you have a 94-97 its located on the drivers side of the intake manifold. if its a 90-93 its located on the thermostat housing underneath the lower radiator hose

Alright found out what it was, there is a groundwire that leads to the bottom of the battery tray, that also has a holder that holds the positive battery cable, that ground was terrible among the positive battery terminal connector was shot and coroded replaced and cleaned up both and its great. thanks for the help! it was very useful in troubleshooting. much appreciation.
