Rattling Tranny in my s2000?!?!?
just picked up a s2000 yesterday and when i test drove it i didnt notice the rattle. this morning i took it for a spin and when i was crusing in 2nd,3rd, and 4th gear its just rattle and sound likes grinding then when i accelerate and switch gear it goes away and then comes back when i let off the throttle. its a 02 53k miles. Mines is having the same problem as that one. PLEASE HELP ME.....

its called clutch buzz,same thing is happening in my ap1... if you press the clutch pedal it goes away or hit the gas it goes away,,,it happens to ap1 s2k bcuz the springs in the clutch are weak and they make a buzzing noise due to backlash from the gears when u let off the accelerator,i believe honda had a call back for this...you can change the clutch and it may go away,id go stage 2 act pressure plate with street disc personally

if the rattling and clutch buzz is an issue, you obviously don't want a act clutch, cheaper clutches like acts run great but buzz a great deal in the s2000..

i found the problem its the catback exhaust it was loose and it was rattling the entire car and when the clutch buzz starts buzzing its make the exhaust rattle and the heat shield to the car also is loose.
