Default help me save my crx!!!

hi guys Ive been owning and driving my 91 crx hf with a d16a6 for few years now and until recently someone crashed into me t-bone me passenger end side door HF looks pretty bad makes me want to give it up but i too want to still keep it so I happen to walk upon and now bought a fresh crx dx shell to replace my HF and keep her alive. Besides swaping the a6 motor over what other parts should or could i swap over to my dx? Hf is basically stock besides stock a6 motor swap. Like could I/should I swap the front crash beam to make it slitly lighter? And what other parts can I swap or keep before I let go of the HF?? Thanks for the help if any.

P.S. Also with my HF having Im not sure the kind of wires for its current a6 swap and dx shell having partial dx wires and partial HF wires from previous owner trying to swap in a HF into DX shell what wire do I use? Thanks

Oh new shell is 89 current t-bone hf is 91

You should go threw the interior and make the keeper the best before you do the dirty work of getting rid of the mashed hf

exactlly what I want to do/am doing...besides for the most part the dx is in better shape than the HF interior and exterior wise almost mint (minus the dash apart n in a mess)u can say just want to know besides interior wise what else can I swap over along with my a6 before i let go of it??

Im afriad not its t-bone pretty good on the passenger end and no way ill be able to find alone a door for it and to get it pushed/pulled/straighten out on the rear end of the rex body work/straightening would be more money then putting everything into a clean shell

Im not that incline to do the wiring or by myself on the new crx shell maybe if it was just one clean set-up say dx by itself or just the HF by itself but its got both wiring HF mixed with DX wiring pretty much kinda of a mess (someones mess pretty much) and on top of that I gotta figure what wires I have in my crashed HF But the DX shell dash is apart in a mess broke up climate control, vents etc. and wires all over-same goes for engine bay. So should I just rip everything out the shell n just put what wirings I have from my crashed HF over or do i gotta go through the headache of the wiring mess-whats better/easier? Cuz i dont even know where to begin. Cuz the DX shell is a 89 and mines a 91 so not sure on any difference in dash wiring besides engine swap wiring headache

If I get this thing going I got plans for it say maybe pull out m old honda stuff rega masters, recaro, jdm bass tube and whatever else Ive been kind of collecting to build my meshed HF slowly

I cant think of much the hf was the lighter one it had all the smaller options like the breaks were smaller in front also had drums in rear, only thing i can think of is the cast manifold on the cat converter you can get a adapter plate and use it for a cheep turbo set up... and the wireing shouldnt be that big of a deal its just getting a decent diagram, and theres plenty of wright ups on that swap.

^^ lol. Always un-hook the battery when working on electrical.

If you don't want to do the wiring then just swap everything over to the new chassis. Then save every part you can before you scrap the HX shell.

Why would you want to swap the d-series motor into another 'Rex? Swap a b-series at least. I wouldn't even swap a ZC into it either. You got a good shell, just upgrade your motor :-)

I only want to swap in the d series because of the history i have with the motor/heart of the rex and because it only has 50k on it with me putting new head gasket n evetything on top making it run top! Never did compression but this motor is strong still runs like new n can easyly still hit 110mph + easy n keeping up with new cars with no problem, just want to save it basically otherwise rather go k series =p if i had the $$$

I guess i should just disconnected the battery but didnt instead i checked all the fuse n still nothing unless i missed 1??? Still its beeping still

1. If the plugs for the turn signals aren't the same then get generic plugs (Radio Shack) and make your own. It should only be 2 wires, 1 is power and the other is ground. You can also just hardwire them.

2. Turn the ignition on and let it beep. Then go around to the smashed door and push in the door button. Did the beeping stop? If it did then you need figure out how to keep that button pushed in.

Yeah Ive checked the door button thing and had it pressed and verything still nothing. Im not sure if its some kind of sensor or what but its freaken starting to really get under my skin i dont even have the connector to the chair thats unplug, checked all fuse they're fine no burnt ones..not sure????

Far as the lens/corners I mean how do I swap the 91 onto the 89? cuz I dont like the way its screwed from the side on the 89. I like the 91 instead but how do I get it to fit/swap keeping the 91 coners??

LMK guys and thanks if any help

the 90-91 crx corners attach to the fender by these two clips they slide in and actually stay in place by a screw at the top of the headlight. In order to use 90-91- corners, you will need to transfer these clips to your 88-89 fenders(removing the old screw in plugs and find a way to attach them to the 88-89 headlights(or you can swap out the 88-89 headlight buckets to the 90-91. Hope this helps.

I wish I could dont really have way for to load up the pictures since im not online much anymore...well from what I read and of course down to the bottom bare shell they're all the same..pretty much...me I like more HF cuz its lighter but DX is fine (shell wise) jux will have to lighten it up some with trying to keep everything OEM reason I have the a6 from the HF
