Hi guys i have a friend that bought a 1995 civic sedan a week ago, 2 days ago we were driving around and the car started having problems. Cylinder 2 has a misfire and we changed spark plugs, cap, rotor and plug wires(to fix it and do a tune up). Nothing, still misfire, today we checked compression and has 0 compression on cylinder 2. The thing is i have a spare d16 y7 engine laying around. Can i use that on his 95 civic? Im pretty sure its just change the intake manifold and use his civic ignition. Is there anything else i have to do? By any chance do you guys have a spare obd1 engine laying around that you sell for cheap? Thanks and i have checked online but there are alot misleading post. I prefer asking you guys because you have always given me great advice and input. thanks

Just swap over intake manifold (including injectors), distributor, exhaust manifold, and alternator from the 95's engine. It'll run just fine.

Try Craigslist....or just sell the y7 for a couple hundred bucks and find a d15 for a couple hundred.

 

Make sure you set the ignition timing when you get her runing!!
