Default 95 Civic misfires- Sometimes on cylinder 1, sometimes on 3. Stumped-Any ideas?

Hi everyone,

I am having a problem with my 95 civic with the stock d16z6 engine misfiring. It runs really rough and sometimes misfires on cylinder 1, and sometimes on cylinder 3, but never both at the same time. So either one or the other is misfiring at any given time. Ive replaced the dizzy and wires and changed the plugs about 3,000 miles ago. Did a compression test and all checks out, even compression along all cylinders.

Any ideas? Thought maybe the fuel injector but if the misfire alternates between two cylinders, doesnt that mean both are still okay? Maybe I got a bad distributor/wires?

Thanks for any help/comments as I am scratching my head on this. Dont want to drive it to the shop like it is so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the dizzy aftermarket or OEM? I know of people having issues with aftermarket ones not working. Make sure that no water has gotten into the system. Also, are you getting any CEL`s??
