anyone with a picture of a 1.5L oil pan???
Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the honda world, and am just curious to see what other people's oil pans look like. it looks like to me that I have a large dent in the front of mine. It started to leak a lot of oil from what I'm guessing is the gasket? (I hope because it's an easy fix) and I went to investigate and saw it. A couple of weeks ago I hit a pretty bad pothole on a dirt road which caused the skidplate to break, I'm thinking that's what might have caused it.
here's a picture. There was a lot of oil dripping from the driver's side of the oil pan where the pulleys are, not sure if it's cause it's parked on a slight slant, but there's a lot of oil all around the bolts that hold the pan on. If it is dented, but not cracked, is it a good idea to reuse the pan?

I'm betting you have a damaged oil pan. I pulled the D15 out of my CRX and it didn't look dented on the bottom. It was almost flat, actually.
i doubt it's the dent just replace the gasket but to be sure clean it up real good and turn on the car and wait til' you where the leak is coming from

but it is dented right? i know some oil pans have weird shapes i just want to double check. i dont really want to go get another oil pan but if i have to i will
OP - just do yourself a favor and get a OEM oil pan gasket and source a new or used oil pan. (The reason for OEM Gasket is most of the aftermarket ones don't have the grommets in them so when you try to torque the down they either split or leak anyways.)
What are you talking about? That dent is clear as day and you can even see where the oil pan is buckled.

my old oil pan had a dent like that and it never leaked! and notice all the oil is near the gasket and not where it's buckled.
op- just get a new oil pan while your at it.
ok i got the new oil pan gasket, and some permatex black to put on it when i install it... will go to pick n pull tomorrow and grab a new one.. cheap insurance
