need help deactivating factory alarm
ok,here's the deal.purchased a 00 si rolling shell.installed the swap and was ready to start her up and WHAM!!!!!!!!!!! the factory alarm goes off.tried the clicker and it didnt work.replaced the battery on the clicker and still didnt work.
is there a way to deactivate the factory alarm?
i was also thinking(not a good thing)...........would a P28 with a jumper harness get the car running without having issues with the alarm?
before i do anything else to the car i would like to get it started atleast.also,if i have to bring it to the dealer,i dont want to pay for towing.
any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

Are you sure it is a factory alarm and not after market?
Is there an LED on the dash......if so where?
Also there is a procedure to reset the factory alarm....google it.

What is it doing? is it going off?
If you have a key fob and car key you can do the programming yourself and see if it works, you do not need the dealer it is not immobilizer style.
Is there an led on the top of the steering column, and a kill switch near the fuse box?

Well i don't know much about ECU's, But i know when they mod them for boost they can controll just about anything.
For example: I had Neptune RTP at one time,,,,, The aint-theft they had was crazy like press the gas 50% and brake to start type stuff, along with kill switch's ect.
So they might have Rommed it with whatever in the hell they wanted....
You just never know.

No. You don't.
An engine control unit (ECU) is a type of electronic control unit that determines the amount of fuel, ignition timing and other parameters an internal combustion engine needs to keep running.
Where does this encompass an alarm system?

OP, if you go to Honda you can get installation directions for optional parts for free. It might not be a bad idea to contact your dealership and ask if they can print out the install instructions for the alarm system.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Here is factory alarm instructions, review them and see if you have any of these components.
