Default Bad gas mileage 00 civic ex

Not sure where to start.. besides the fact that my gas mileage has been horrible for the past year, and do not know what is causing this to be so bad. I have already replaced the primary o2 sensor and some basic tune up things like spark plugs, and that did absolutely nothing besides a little more throttle response. And on my last few tanks I literally have not once gotten more than 215 miles on a tank before the gas light came on.

So I searched around a lot today, and I saw in a lot of places that the MAP sensor can be a cause of running rich and thus consuming a lot of fuel causing bad gas mileage. I am currently not throwing any CEL and that is why I am starting to wonder what's causing this. It's still an automatic so I really dont ever get on it to where it would even affect gas mileage... So what I need help with is someone who may be able to determine which I should try first, either cleaning the MAP sensor, new fuel filter, or look around for a really good injector cleaner. Im sorry if this doesn't sound too clear, im just extremely tired right now. If anyone can help i'd really appreciate it. thanks

What is the mileage on the car? Any modifications? Last full tune up (cap, rotor, wires)?

Make sure the tune up parts are OEM.

-Plugs
-Wires
-Cap
-Rotor
-Fuel filter
-PCV valve (clean/replace)
-IACV valve (clean)

Check tire pressure/alignment. Make sure fluids are fresh/full
Check that the timing is correct.

Wow that is worse than my mileage 96 ex auto.

You can test the MAP sensor.

Just for curiousity look at your exhaust manifold, take off the heat shield and see it is cracked.

Fuel treatments don't fix problems. If a fuel system was that bad the car would run like ****.

Check your O2 sensor. usually the engine light will come on though. But a faulty one gives horendous mpg.

It seems his car may need to be tuned up and a fuel cleaner will not solve the problems. Fuel cleaners should be used every 5k or so to keep the fuel system clean. It can't fix worn plugs, wires, cap, rotor, a dirty IACV or a clogged PCV valve.

I'm talking about the OP car. Someone suggested Bg44k and I stated that won't fix a car needing a proper tune up.
