I recently dropped my(winter driver) miata and inch got the springs on e bay for 60 .
It made a world of difference in the car it drives like a go kart, I may do my si in the spring after it comes out of hibernation.

We've done a spring test that may help:

I'm a huge fan of the Neuspeed springs.... not a better one out there from a performance point of view. And best mild drop is the HFP and best medium drop is Swift, but it's a bit expensive. Best performance drop is Neuspeed Sport, no question.

I have Tein S Tech on my FA5. I find the drop to be aggresive enough (not into "dumped"). Mine lowered about 1 1/2" in front and 1" rear.
I suggest you check out 8thgencivic.com You'll find a few threads with pics of different set-ups. GL

Nice review Chris!
I'm going to be completely honest with you. If you plan on keeping the car for awhile do yourself a favor and spend the money once on good coilovers. They make the world of difference. Your stock shocks/struts will blow quickly with the lowering spring on making the ride horrible.
Spend you money once and do it right the first time. It will save you headaches and money in the long run.

I currently drive a 2007 Civic Sedan LX,
running Eibach Sportlines.
IMO best lowering springs for the 8th Gen.
1.6 inch drop all around.
stiffer ride than OEM springs, and they are progressive, meaning they are soft/comfy for Daily driving, but when punch the gas they stiffen up.
my set-up is
Stock shocks, Eiback Sportline Springs
Wheels are
Enkei CZ4R, 18x8.5 +38 all around wrapped with GoodYear Eagle GT 225/40 R18.
no rubbing issues.
