hey guys, so i recently bought a 92 honda prelude and my check engine light is on but i passed smog. my brakes pads are going out cause it makes noises but i bought new ones not yet replaced though. however now my honda prelude starts to shake violently when im stopped at a stop sign or at a stop light. stopped in general... can it be my rotor? anyone?

 

While you are stopping? or while you are stopped?

 

If it's while you are stopped, then it's probably a timing/ignition issue or the idle needs to be adjusted.

 

If coming to stop, then warped rotors.

If at stop, too low of idle.

 

Check the CEL and resolve it before guessing. If the rotors haven't been cut in a while doing it would definitely make a difference even if you don't feel any excessive parallelism, the pads will last longer.

 

def need to check the CEL code very simple and will keep money in your pocket instead of guessing around
