I have 91 civic si with the sohc zc Multi point. It has an bumpy idle. its not like a normal iacv surge. its almost like hitting the rev limiter bumpy. it throws code 14 for iacv. but ive pulled and cleaned it a few times. when i unplug it it idles kinda rough but then if i rev and hold it it starts being bumpy again. if i try and drive it it falls on its face for a sec then goes. and will continue to stall. cant find any leaks. it actually sounds like its sucking in 3 times the air that it normally does. anyone have any ideas. dont quite see how that is gonna help when i said ive cleaned it. done everything i know to do besides replace it. and now ive noticed that when it dies and the key is still on there is a clicking noise coming from the iacv. and i blocked it off with some cardboard and it still has its symptoms of bumpy idle.

ok well the ivac is good and i dont have the fitv under the throttle body where else would it be ? or is there even one there.?

 

ok not that either. but i have the solenoid. not the fitv. but ok the idle bouncing is really fast not slow like the ivac would normally do..

it just started over night. ran great like 4 hours before. i check all spark plugs ,wires the dizzy is new like a week before this happened. still cannot find any vacc leaks.

is your throttle cable, throttle plate stop screw and idle screw all adjusted correctly?
the canle should have slack in it and everything else you adjust off that

 

yea all thats adjusted right cause it was working fine about 4 hours before and drove it without any issues for like 4-5 months. but i think i got it i dunno what i did but it seems to be working normally now. dont know lol. Thanks for all the help.

yes timing is on. its still working i drove for around 2 hours total tonight so im guessing whatever i did fixed it.

i have no clue i just pulled the ivac and the fiscv and the little white sensor off cleaned them again . pulled all the spark plugs out. and it was still doing all the problems so i tried to drive it and it was cutting out and having issues and it just started snowing so i was having ebrake fun. for about 20 mins. parked it and let it cool off and came out 20 mins later and it started up fine with no problems lol..
